Beware!.. . It’s Sunday, so that means we close at 6:30 pm tonight. We’d prefer to not have a repeat of the gentleman last summer, sitting outside the back side of the building, two hours after we’d closed, windows down in his truck, yelling at the top of his lungs, “I just want a @&$&ing burger, for the love of god, just one $&@ing burger.” I mean, I know the feeling, but, please stop yelling and just get on Yelp and complain about us. 😜.. . You’ve been warned..

So, the Seahawks have a little football game happening today, and we’ve got a little sticker action happening.. . Drive, bike, roll, skip, hop, or walk on up (just don’t crawl, it’s still a bit wet) and ask for your free stickers.. . Available until we’re out. (but we have a LOT).. . See you soon.. . Forgot to show this off: Scooby Doo mascot head. It was wrapped in a bag and left on Granny’s front porch with a Merry Christmas note.. . The person that left it behind has my oddball sense of humor and his family has been friends with our family for 70+ years.. . As a kid growing up in Olympia/Tumwater I loathed how small this town was because you couldn’t get away with anything without the phone ringing and getting ratted out moments after you’d perpetuated a bit of mayhem. (Using driving like an idiot). Now that’s the thing I love the most, I seem to know everyone, or am only a person once removed from ever person in town. Funny how that perspective swapped with age.. . Anyhow, there’s no point to this post other than to brag about this Scooby Doo head, and to tell you that if you see someone driving the Mystery Machine like an idiot..it wasn’t me.. .

Ben Bartlett has been working up a new Birthday Cake Milkshake graphic for us. We love it!.. . It’s main purpose, at this point, is to remind you that today, and today only, we’ll be offering a Birthday Cake Milkshake.. . Real cake, sliced up, jammed in a cup full of shake mix and blended, slightly, for your eating pleasure. It’s not really supposed to suck through a straw, but we’ll probably give you a straw as well.. . Available at the drive through as well as the ice cream / pizza shack.. . Happy Birthday to us!.. . 70 years old this week.. . Funny, we don’t feel a day over 50. (Next year we celebrate owning the place for 50 years).. . It’s now been Eastside Big Tom for 2 1/2 times longer than it was Eagans, and yet, we still get called Eagans. The standard argument is that it was Eagans first, which is, of course, a false memory, undoubtedly planted by Ray Kroc before he decided he liked California better and headed south to mess with the McDonald brothers. We were originally named.......are you ready for this one....”In & Out” Hamburgers. (See photo).. . The moral of the story: I’m hungry, and need to go open a restaurant. Oh, and we’ll be telling proper historical (hysterical, whatever) tales the next few days to celebrate our birthday week.. . Oh, yeah, and Birthday Cake Milkshakes all day Friday. Well, it’s not the Golden Ticket, but it’s proof that we recycle. There were four certificates printed for free fries and Goop on the back of Amanda’s Any Burger/Side Order/Drink Certificate. Bonus! (Part of a test run of mine for a fundraiser earlier in the year, I dislike wasting paper, and must have saved this in the wrong pile) My disorganization is someone’s good fortune. I love that. Merry Christmas!

I’m not sure what Amazon thinks my business is, but I like where this is going.

One more note: We’re closed until December 26th, Wednesday.. . We were open this morning for the Glazed & Confused Special, then shut down at 10:30 AM, and sent the staff home to spend time with their families and friends.. . Merry Christmas to those of you that I didn’t see this morning. Y’all make this weird burger flipper excited to come to work each day.. . Michael

Either one of our cats got into something it wasn’t supposed to today or this isn’t one of our cats. However, it is in the cat house, making it, I believe, an honorary cat. Our outdoor cats are not as convinced as I am, though.

Thanks to our friends at motivated home maintenance for this reminder today.. . This is so easy to do, and so easy to forget at this time of year, as we get caught up in the frenzied pace of the rampant consumerism fueled race the media whips us into.. . (says the guy trying to sell you food all the darned time).. . Slow down, take a measured breath, look around you, it’s ok...to be ok.. . I love you all, my ever growing family of neurodiverse, and neurotypical humans.. . In the end, that’s it, our unbreakable, common bond: We’re all human together.. . Thank you again Justin Losey. I needed this reminder more than I realized today.. . Michael

Our Dog of The Day is Kodiak. He’s a good boy that is a little over a year old and loves his Big Tom treats.

Quick note: The Christmas Tree lot in the overflow parking lot doesn’t belong to us. We’re not sure of their hours, as they seem to vary, or their prices. Sorry about that.

It feels like one of those meat, cheese, butter only kind of days.
